Exploring Christianity at St Pancras Parish Church
Short introduction and discussion exploring some aspect of Christianity.
All welcome of any faith or none.
Sessions are usually led by the Vicar or another member of the clergy.
6 - 12 or so people attend ranging from retired parishioners to people from various Christian denominations who work in the area and come in their lunch hour when they can.
In 2011 this changed from 2 periods of weekly sessions to a monthly session through the year.
1st Tuesday of the month 1.15 - 2pm at St Pancras Church. There are not yet any plans for 2012. The Hampstead Christian Study Centre is open to any who wish to learn more of the Christian faith, to understand its relevance to various aspects of life and to engage with others in dialogue about important issues of that life.
The Centre is ecumenical in concept with a Committee comprising members of all denominations in the Hampstead area. The Committee organises courses through a large part of the year - an Autumn term of talks on a particular theme, a short course between Epiphany & Lent and a short more light-hearted summer programme including outings.
The courses comprise talks by a wide variety of national and local speakers, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion. As each speaker deals with different aspects of the theme, the talks vary in both content and style and overall cover a wide spectrum of life, whether theological, artistic, historical, psychological, spiritual or whatever.
After many years meeting at Hampstead Parish Church on Wednesdays the Centre moved to Belsize Park on Tuesdays in the Summer of 2009. Venue and day now vary each term.
