What spiritual essentials will help us through life's storms? Lentwise is a 5-session course which helps us deal with the rigours of real life.

The course will lead into a 24-hour Retreat on 4/5 April at St Peter's Bourne.

March Sundays in Lent 4.30 – 5.45pm at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church
‘Evangelism a Bloomsbury taboo?’ Come and share in lively discussions.
For many people, evangelism is a word to describe the under-thoughtful and over-enthusiastic attempt to achieve church success by a spiritualised version of pyramid-selling. Using either the power of positive thinking, or the power of guilt, church members are encouraged to learn formulae to lead their Non-Christian-Friends (NCFs!) to become Christian. Such approaches to evangelism are rightly condemned, but this is a long way from how evangelism in Scripture ever worked in practice.
This series of discussions will offer an alternative way of understanding evangelism, and practical suggestions about what this means for members of Bloomsbury today.
The basic structure will be as follows: 1/3 Session 1
Evangelising and the subversion of the empire. What did evangelism mean for the Romans and what Christians did about it? 8/3 Session 2
Bad News: Evangelism, Evangelicalism, Heaven and Hell. The motives for doing evangelism well. 15/3 Session 3
The Altar Call: Evangelism and worship. 22/3 Session 4
A Baptist Duty: Church growth Evangelism as the task of the church, to what extent should every individual be an evangelist? 29/3 Session 5
Evangelising and Contemporary London: Practical considerations about evangelising well in central London. Living Faith
During Lent there will be a short course at St James Church NW6 to encourage reflection on how we live as Christians in the world today. It will be held on three Saturdays in Lent from 10am - 12noon ending with Mass. (+ parallel children's programme on these days)
