Debate I: The panel - Nigel Winter, CEO of the Vegan Society, Brother Samuel of the Society of St Francis and Silvija Davidson of Slow Food London - will look at the effect our eating habits may be having on the environment and climate change. It will offer reasons for making different consumer choices in regard to the food we buy, and place the discussion in the context of communities of faith and earth stewardship.

Debate ll: The panel - Aubrey Meyer, classical musician, composer and environmental activist, Deepak Rughani, member of Biofuelwatch, Martin Palmer, Secretary General of the Alliance of Religions and Conservation, Martin Harper, Head of Sustainable Development for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds - will look at how much longer the earth’s resources might sustain the current level of human energy consumption, as well as assessing the damage such consumption is having on the natural world. It will offer a wider perspective on alternative energy sources and seek to promote a vision of how individuals and faith groups might respond to the imperatives of conservation and contraction.

Focus on Indonesia
Join with others across the UK in the Drop the Debt Fast calling for the G8 countries to drop debts against Indonesia. As we fast, we pray for the Indonesian people and the diversity of life on its islands. We are asking that people donate what they would have spent on food to the RSPB campaign to save the Sumatran Rainforest.
