Holocaust Memorial Day 27 January 2012 The theme for 2012 is “Speak Up, Speak Out” It challenges everyone to speak out against racism and discrimination so that the lessons from the past are learned to create a safer, better future. Leading campaigners for social tolerance and justice in society will talk about their work. Camden Council website says “just come along” but British Library says booking recommended. http://www.bl.uk/whatson/events/event127219.html JustShare is a coalition of churches, agencies and other bodies committed to global development and social justice. They are based at St Mary-le-Bow in the City of London. JustShare Lecture Series: Christian Social and Political Thought The lectures, usually 6.05pm on a Wednesday, are given by leaders in the field and provide a range of perspectives on what is meant by ‘justice,’ how the concept has been interpreted by social and political thinkers historically, and what it means - or should mean - in the City and wider society today. Wed 8 Feb 6.05pm The Revd Dr Jeremy Morris, Dean of King's College Cambridge 'Two Christian Churches? Renewing Confidence in the future.' Dr Morris will be exploring the sources of division in the Church today and how we as Christians can think through and beyond our differences in order to make a real difference to the world around us. 29 Feb and 5 March see Fairtrade Fortnight pages Wed 18 April 6.05pm The Rt Revd Adrian Newman, Bishop of Stepney 'A Dickens of a time: lessons in social transformation from a national treasure'

St Paul's Institute, CAFOD, Tearfund and The Salvation Army came together to host a panel debate focussing on the extent to which the financial sector has a moral role to play in contributing to the common good. Evan Davis, well known economist and BBC presenter, chaired the debate which consisted of panellists from different perspectives including: Ken Costa (Chairman of Lazard International), Michael Izza (CEO of the Institute of Chartered Accountants), Rt. Revd Peter Selby (former Bishop of Worcester) and Baroness Shirley Williams (House of Lords).

One Hundred Days of Peace Friday 8 June – Sunday 9 September 2012
