Fairtrade Fortnight 2012

Take a Step for Fairtrade in 2012! Fairtrade Fortnight 27 February – 11 March 2012
We are being invited to Take a Step for Fairtrade not just during Fairtrade Fortnight but through a whole year of events to take Fairtrade further. The aim is for 1.5 million steps for Fairtrade to be registered by the end of 2012. www.fairtrade.org.uk/step

Camden Fairtrade Network Steering Group camdenfairtrade@googlemail.com
will be planning what Steps they can take to encourage others to Take a Step for Fairtrade. Please help us to Take Steps all round the Borough by letting us know what you are doing for Fairtrade as individuals, schools, churches or other community groups.

Among other ideas raised at the London Fairtrade Steering Group meeting were suggestions for footprints linking the Boroughs and footprints within the Borough linking Fairtrade outlets or campaign venues. Could your church, school or workplace join in such a trail?

Traidcraft is again inviting us to reach out to the community in our area with a Big Brew - a nationwide initiative helping churches, schools and workplaces to host a Fairtrade event in Fairtrade Fortnight. This year they are taking up the theme of the 2011 – 2014 strategy document “From Fair to Flourishing” and asking us to make our Step for Fairtrade a Traidcraft Big Brew to help families and communities to flourish.

There'll be posters, invitations, a fact sheet, a DVD, a quiz, and worship resources - as well as a catering pack - to make it easy for you to get involved. http://www.traidcraft.co.uk/news_and_events/events/fairtrade_fortnight
